Seattle Times - Expedia buys HomeAway for $3.9 billion, by Coral Garnick, November 4, 2015
Austin, Texas-based HomeAway touts itself as the world leader in vacation rentals, with sites representing more than 1 million paid listings of vacation rental homes in 190 countries.

From the article: "The deal adds the HomeAway brand and sites to Expedia’s growing lineup, which already includes Hotels.com, Hotwire, Egencia, Travelocity and Orbitz."

>> Maybe their dog of a website will be improved now!

Unfortunately, we can expect rental costs to go up whether or not they improve their website. Renters will have to pay a booking fee to Expedia when booking through a Homeaway site (also including VRBO).
