Bari to Amalfi without a car?

Hi, I'm spending a week in Puglia this October, then heading to Amalfi for a number of days, and trying to figure out the best way to get there.

I'm looking at some related posts and thinking that a train from Bari to Salerno, then transfer to a bus, might make the most sense? (or wondering if there's an option of training from Bari to Vietre Sul Mare, and then to Amalfi from there?) Appreciate any suggestions. (I['d consider a driver but I'm guessing that will cost a fortune).

Thanks much!

I think someone was planning a very similar trip recently, so maybe worth catching up with them to see what they decided (and why).

It's going to be a little fiddly, so worth considering which route will feel less fiddly / stressful, even if longer. Certainly Salerno is a lot more chilled than Napoli, so that's a decent reason to consider coming at it from that direction.
