Day trips from Barcelona…

Girona is definitely worth it! The old town is charming, and you can walk around the medieval walls for some great views. I also loved the Jewish Quarter—it has a really cool vibe. If you’re into Game of Thrones, you’ll recognize a few spots, too. Another great day trip is Montserrat. The mountain views are incredible, and the monastery is really peaceful. Both are easy to get to from Barcelona and make for a nice change of pace!

Sitges is better than I expected. It has a reputation as a party beach town but it has a beautiful waterfront. I only briefly stopped over on a day trip which also stopped at Tarragona.

Area I want to see now is north/northeast of Barcelona, the Costa Brava.
