London Favorite London Indian Restaurants?

It’s been a few years since we were last in London. The “best” lists seem to focus on the usual high end places. I’d love some additional suggestions for some great Indian food, especially with a regional or vegetarian focus. Places where the tab won’t give my husband a coronary appreciated.

It's been years since we were there, but I see Masala Essence still gets high marks. It is between St. Pancras and Russell Square.

We were in Edinburgh last summer at ate at Dishoom . I saw they have several locations and their flagship restaurant was Covent Garden. I think this was the very best Indian food I have ever eaten. Check out the menu first, because if you have your heart set on one single dish, they may not have that. Their menu is very different than Indian restaurants I've been to in the US, Canada and France. They suggest several dishes shared between diners, kind of "tapas style" if you will.

This meal will reman a highlight of all travel meals anywhere.
