Florence April 2022

Isn’t it great to be able to start planning again! We’ve booked a month in Florence starting in late March through April 2022. We have visited three times in the past but never for this long. We have rented an apartment on Piazza del Carmine. We’ll have family and friends coming and going during the month and I am looking for economical transportation with baggage from the airport to Piazza del Carmine. Any favorite methods or private drivers you can share? Thanks and happy planning!!

Following up on our upcoming month in Florence. Less than a month before we arrive!

Will my U.S. Amazon account be useful to order various items directly to our apartment?

Are certain video streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video active in Florence?

How about Spotify for music?

Thanks for the advice. Can’t wait to return!

Does your apartment provide internet access for you? Just a thought that if you are buying services once there, your and your guests' streaming might cost you more than the apartment ;-) ;-)

The bit that I know is that yes, you can have Amazon ship to Italy; you can also login to amazon.it on your U.S. account to see how prices with shipping compare. Netflix is available, possibly with different programming; you could try a VPN to see about getting what's available in the U.S.

We have internet access in the apartment for 30 euro for the month.

Our recent month in Florence was fabulous! The Oltrarno neighborhood was perfect for “living” in Florence as it’s far enough away from the famous tourist sites but close enough to quickly walk to them. Happy to relay any information regarding the trip if you have any questions. Busses, daily grocery all were a bit new to us due to the length of our stay this time. We also did a few overnight train trips to Montalcino and then Cinque Terre, a day trip to Pisa and Lucca and a day long cooking class just outside Florence. We had family and friends visiting during the month so airport transfers were needed. We have some contacts, places to stay/visit and lessons learned if they are helpful to anyone.

If you’re considering a lengthy stay in Florence just dive right in….it was the best travel decision we have ever made. And it was very slooww!
