Hi all! I am excited to be here! I am a mom/wife/hair stylist/gardener and a soon to be empty nester in T minus 30 days! My husband and I have serious travel lust. We are hoping to go for month long trips all over the world, but this September we will head to Italy for 17 days to get the ball rolling. We both still work full time, but imagine a retirement living over seas periodically. Thanks in advance for all of the advice I am sure to receive here.

Welcome!
17 days is a nice starter! I find the first week can often be an energetic blur, as the excitement of the new experience spurs us on. Going into the 2nd week often signals a subtle change, as we start to settle in a little more, enjoying embedding in the local culture and also feeling more relaxed. That dynamic can change if using different bases with transfers, but nonetheless still happens.

Hi Ian. Yes, I totally agree! We spent 2 weeks in Italy in 2019, and were finally relaxed by weeks two. I can't wait to see how week 4 will feel at some point!
