Interesting towns that you can reach by bus or train near Malaga, Spain

Well, we're firming up our plans for two weeks in Spain, first two weeks in April. Will be spending 4 days in Malaga. We were there last November but mainly stayed in the city with one trip to Ronda. Are there any small towns, not too touristy, around Malaga that can be reached by bus or train? Looking older, more traditional, laid back places to visit as a day trip. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. I've already received some great advice on other parts of our trip. Thanks.

Antequera would be my first choice, it's an easy bus ride. (M253 bus) Here's our day trip there:
Or Nerja, by bus - on the coast so will be warmer, very pretty but loads of foreign tourists compared to very few in Antequera.
In Rincon de la Victoria there are the Cuevas del tesoro, which together with a look around Rincon make for a pleasant half day
