Looking for Rome hotel

I will have two nights in Rome before my Grapehops Sicily tour, and one night on the way back. Not an early return flight, so I don't feel the need to stay near the airport. Recommendations for a reasonably priced hotel, maybe near Piazza Navona? Thanks :)

I'm not sure what you consider reasonable, but we really like the Hotel Albergo del Senato, centrally located & literally right on the plaza by the Pantheon: https://www.albergodelsenato.it If noise bothers you, ask for a room that doesn't face the plaza -- if you like seeing the activity (there are always musicians in the plaza but not after 9 or 10pm), then try to get a room facing it. They also have a great roof deck bar for those staying at the hotel. And only a block or two walk from some really great restaurants.

If you want a quiet, removed place (doesn't sound like you do) in a residential section of Rome (up on the Aventine "hill", but walkable to the center), we like the 3 hotels owned by the same people: http://www.aventinohotels.com All reasonably priced, each slightly different.

Thanks so much. The Albergo del Senato is way out of my price range (almost $400/night), but sounds wonderful. I'll pass this time :) Looking at the aventino hotels now...one looks more in =my price range...less than $300 for both nights,

We have stayed at the Del, but also find it a bit pricey. We have always enjoyed our stays at the Hotel Mozart. Love the location, near the Spanish Steps, Metro, and Piazza del Popolo The Mozart also has a lovely rooftop terrace. Ask for a quiet room, as a few front on a busy street. The rest are very quiet. Many excellent restaurants nearby.

Glad to hear that, Sharon, since we have a stay at the Mozart coming up. Another central hotel, where we stayed last year, is the Cesàri.

Stayed at Residenza Canali ai Coronai.... Just off Piazza Navona. Nice place, quiet, reasonable and great hosts. Great little Ristorante’s next door called Tre Archi ....good food, reasonable prices and don’t mind the closed door. It’s mostly Romans as his clientele so if you speak a little italian, you’re gold! He likes to keep the tourists out so the reason for the closed or the ajar door...

" Looking at the aventino hotels now...."

Might look at the Hotel Aventino, Via San Domenico, 10. Very quiet location and in a nice strolling neighborhood (close to the Aventine Keyhole for a diversion from the regular sights). A little bit of a hike up the hill from the Circo Massimo Metro if you are using public transportation, but we've stayed there several times and were always happy with the rooms, breakfast, and neighborhood.
