Winter is coming...I would like to share some photos taken in Murcia. It was January 2019. The weather was fine (about + 20 C) and we spent the whole day in the open air.
Summer it's very hot there, in winter it'is much more comfortable.
Our first stop was at the Cathedral De Santa Maria. It was completed in 1509 . Note: the entrance is free.
I strongly reccomended to look at the church from different sides, because it was built in the Baroque era and combines 3 styles. Looks amazing!
Murcia - is the orange state. These fruit trees everywhere, on every corner.
Interesting fact:
Spanish oranges are used to make traditional English Gin. Think about it when you're drinking Beefeater. Cheers)
Get ready for shopping in Murcia. Calle Plateria - is a wide range of jewellery salons and underwear stores. Calle Traperia there is a great part of crafted shops, men's clothing. I was impressed with the large selection of Tweed items. For example: jacket prices starts from € 70.
The next stop was the Bridge of Dangerous, dated 1742. It connects two districts - El Carmen and central part of city. This bridge is the oldest in Murcia.
Tips: step aside for a good shots; rent a boat for romantic evening (don't forget the Cava - Spanish Champagne)
Places to see near the bridge:
Park Glorietta
Temple of De La Virgin Los Peligros (Lady of Dangerous)
The monument of Segura Sardine - this is a reference to local festival "Sardine Funeral" on the Saturday after Holy Week. It's Fool Day, when citizens makes a parodies on the government's.
If you travelling by a car visit Monteagudo Castle. It's located in the outskirts of Murcia, just 7-10 km.from the city center. On your own: bus number 36, stop: Cuartel.
One of the main reasons for visiting place is a fourteen-meter monument of Jesus Christ and stunning views in beautifull surroundings.
