Torino bike hire, www.tobike.it (modern styled bike ‘stations’ to pick up and drop off at. Plenty of smaller streets to cycle on especially in the Quadrilatero, plus along the River Po & Parco Valentino. Do remember about avoiding riding straight along tram tracks though, as you might ‘trip up’, always cross tracks at an angle)

Many thanks for posting this Pauline.

As with every city, it's an ever changing scene, with some superb places closing e.g. Baita del Formagg! on via Lagrange or the impressive vegetarian restaurant on via San Quintino that didn't even make it onto the list before I found out it had closed, but with others appearing to add new excitement.

Anything with a * is somewhere I've been to and really loved it. That's not to say the others aren't good or great.

I do think of Torino as a truly great food city, and I do love grazing the specialist food shops, creating a revolving apartment 'picnic', where what doesn't get eaten for lunch, might form part of a supper, or even breakfast the following day.

When to go? Whilst the food is good all-year round, the classic spring (March-May) and Autumn (October/November) have special charm, the former for the vibrant early fruits (Primizia Osvaldo was an amazing discovery), the latter for the mushrooms, truffles and chestnuts. I'd avoid summer as it's not the time of year I want to be found in the cities. We did go late one year (Nov/Dec) and that time of year has appeal as well.

A great list and wonderful resource, many thanks. I saved quite a few from the list on my Google Map of Torino, in hopes of reaching them last October - but we know what happened to those plans....
Wow, if Ian is posting about Piemonte again, maybe things are getting back to normal....;)

Thanks for that Joe
I fear the list will need a full review by the time travel restarts and the effect on small businesses works it way through.... but if holiday prep is a lovely re-cursor to the holiday, it might be a good way to ease back into it!

Great list thank you! Torino is definitely on my list! And agree, love a good grazing food city experience in the cooler weather.
