60 Days - Central Europe

We have taken several 60 day trips - Italy, New Zealand, China.
We need some help putting together a trip to include:
Turkey (Istanbul), Poland (Krakow), Czech Republic (Prague & Slovenia), Austria (Vienna), Hungary (Budapest), Paris & Normandy, Portugal, Croatia (Dubrovnik), and Greece (Athens).
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

That’s 10 places! Will you spend a week in each place? How do plan to move between places? Trains or car or by air, or a combination?

Not sure which country forum this belongs in, so will leave it here.

Probably 3-6 day stays. That leaves us lots of options for more stops. Any suggestions?
Transportation mostly by car, but trains when logical.

What route are you thinking about? Paris, Normandy and Portugal seem far from the other places.

Is there a theme to your trip? What things are you interested in seeing and doing?

If you do a search for each country on the forums, you will find trip reports and other posts that might help you.

Personally this sounds far too much to do. How will you manage the logistics of car hire? A car in every country? because it will be expensive hiring in one country and dropping off in another. Then you have all the time spent travelling from one country to the next. As Pauline has said, France and Portugal are away from the others.
I would not know where to begin organising a trip like this. We are returning to France for 73 days in April and that is enough for me.
I do hope you can devise a plan that satisfies you and look forward to hearing all about it.

I suggest you group the destinations by priority and geographical location, such as Central/Eastern Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary), Mediterranean/Balkans (Croatia, Greece, Turkey), and Western Europe (Paris & Normandy, Portugal). Traveling by location is more convenient.

Nine countries, 60 days. If specific locations are involved, there will be more. This is too complicated. You can try to plan the itinerary first by grouping according to countries or geographical locations that are close to each other, and then combine them to calculate the number of days.

O my god this is a dizzying number of regions to visit for such a short time. Or perhaps we are a group with SLOW in the group name, and I know I am singularly lacking in expertise on whirlwind holidays. But each region gets an average of 6 days. Imagine: Greece 6 days, Portugal 6 days, western Europe 6 days. May I suggest that for your enjoyment you pinpoint your geographical focus ? As is, for every region you want to visit, the things you miss will way outnumber the things you actually get to experience.

Phirhon makes a good point about car rental. If you are not aware you can lease a brand new car for much less money than multiple rentals. I'd advise you to explore these two websites. We have leased cars multiple times from both companies and have been very pleased. You get the brand new car that you select, nicely optioned, unlimited mileage, full insurance, no extra for other drivers and free road service if needed.

Sounds like an incredible trip! Start in Istanbul, then move through Athens, Dubrovnik, Central Europe, Paris, and Portugal, using trains where possible and flights for longer distances. Plan 3–5 days per city and pack for mixed weather.
