We were blown away by this show...the writing, the acting, the production. It is a tough watch but really hits all the marks. Written by Jack Thorne and co-star Stephen Graham, the four episodes take your breath away. Especially noteworthy is the performance by the then 14 year old first time actor Owen Cooper who is astonishing.

I've not watched it yet, but the family with Grandsons 13 and 15 are hooked on it. There are so many important messages for them to absorb.

It is one of those shows with an important message but it is really interesting and doesn’t feel like a lecture. It doesn’t hand feed you opinions either. It lays out the situation and several possible causes. Brilliantly made. Lots about this show in the UK news.

It has prompted a lot of discussion and hopefully flagged up messages for the grandsons to take on board and hopefully learn from...

Well, having read this thread I started to watch epsiode 1 last night. I didn't quite finish it because I started it too late.

I have to say I was a little put off because the opening scene where the police arrest the kid. Is it accurate that a dozen heavily armed police would break down a door and terrorize a family to arrest a 12 year old? I know in America it is quite possible that a 12 year old could have an AR15 under his bed, but in England? Couldn't they just wait until he walked to school and pick him up then?

I'll probably resume watching tonight, but if it wasn't so recommended by Pauline and Eleanor, I might have dropped it.

Edit: And oh, BTW, my hearing isn't the best anyway, but I had trouble understanding some of the dialogue. I'm American, I don't speak English! :D
