Global Entry Renewal

I received notice that my Global Entry was nearing the end of the five year approval period and would expire in May of this year. On February 25, I completed the online renewal application. Less than 36 hours later, I received notice that my application was approved. Wow! That was quick! Not sure why they are warning of long waits and backlogs.

I applied for Nexus (Canada) last year, since my son is going to college in Victoria. After 8 months I am finally conditionally approved! Now I need an interview, but they are really booked out as well.

But I did find out that I can use my Global Entry to go through the Nexus lanes into the US. Just can't use those lanes going into Canada. Yet.
