On SlowTalk, there was an effort to link discussions that gave lasting practical information in the FAQ forum, although sometimes those got outdated. The FAQ forum was mostly topics on Italy, while an FAQ for France was pinned on the France forum.
FlyerTalk has wikis at the head of many topics, where established members can edit general information. For example, Rome Fiumicino Airport : Pauline and I put together a page on that topic for SlowTrav; so far I haven't touched that FlyerTalk wiki. If the wiki is an option on these SE forums, that could be something to look into.
