Sardinia?

Running around ideas for 2020 for my husbands 70th birthday. Gulp! Would love to hear some thoughts on Sardinia. We have never been but thinking about it. We will be renting a villa hopefully on the coast. Any areas better than others?

Sardinia is amazing, but it can be quite expensive. If you really want to do something special for his birthday and are willing to spend money, I would point you out the Arcipelago of La Maddalena, which is literally Eden on Earth. But yeah, expensive.

There are plenty of wonderful towns on the seaside that you can enjoy in Sardinia, btw. The least expensive area that comes into my mind is Porto Pino.

La Maddalena can be windy, although very nice. The beach of Villasimius is absolutely beautiful in the South, also the area of Chia and Porto Pino as Sara says above, but there are loads of beautiful beaches in Sardinia. Santa Teresa di Gallura area too.....Budoni.... if you want beautiful sea you're spoilt for choice
