tour groups in Bath?

Hi, my cousins and I plan to spend a week in Bath this May, and we're hoping to find a tour guide for some day trips (such as to Cotswolds, Stonehenge). We won't have a car and are wondering if anyone has suggestions for a local tour group/guide.

(also, I'd be happy to know if anyone would recommend another base. However, i've never been to Bath and have spent a heavenly week last year in the Cotswolds).

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our May trip. However we had booked Mad Max tours and were quite pleased with our booking service (and cancelation process)

Bath is an excellent place to stay especially since you’ve already stayed in the Cotswolds. You could spend several days exploring Bath. A day trip south to Wells and Glastonbury might be fun. Or north to Castle Combe. If you go to Stonehenge make sure to also visit Avebury (huge stone circle) and/or Salisbury (beautiful cathedral).

Wells is the smallest Cathedral city in England and is very much a regional centre with its twice weekly market and good range of small specialist shops.

It is a delightful small town to wander round with cathedral, ruined bishop’s palace, old gateways, cobbled streets and medieval architecture. It has managed to avoid the tourist crowds of places like nearby Cheddar or Bath.

South West Thread 'Avebury Stone Circle'

Avebury is a large stone circle on the edge of the Salisbury Plain, in Wiltshire, west of London. The main circle of stones is about 3/4 mile around and surrounds the village of Avebury. You can walk up to the stones and touch them. There are smaller circles inside the large circle. The large circle is surrounded by a large man-made ditch. The site dates from 2600 BC. Avebury is an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Avebury is not as well known as Stonehenge and is not as jaw-droppingly perfect, but is magnificent in a different way. Plan to spend a day in this area. There are other prehistoric...
