This was our third visit to Chianti and Siena. In the past, we have stayed in villas outside the city, but wanted to be inside the walls this time.
We rented this apartment for five nights in September 2018. The apartment is on Via Vallepiatta (VRBO map shows incorrect location) and on the first floor above a street with mostly foot traffic. There is a great little grocery just down the block with a good variety of necessities, a deli counter, and a friendly owner. Osteria da Divo (reserve several nights ahead) is around the corner.
This apartment has plenty of room and everything we needed for our five night stay. The kitchen was well-stocked with tableware. There were plenty for pots, pans and cooking utensils. The espresso maker was great and the owner even left coffee pods for us to use on our first morning. The appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes washer) looked to be fairly new and worked well. There is more than enough space for two, and four adults or a family of four could have a great time. The building is secure and tidy with a fantastic view of Santa Caterina from both bedrooms. The location is perfect. You would never know you're only a few steps from the Battiserio and the Duomo. Il Campo is maybe five minutes if you walk slow. The host Cristina, was very accommodating and we really felt we could call her with any need though we did not find that necessary. We kept her updated on our arrival time from Florence via WhatsApp. She and her son were there to greet us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
