Venice Venice 2019, side trip to Rome

Another beautiful sunny day, so we took a walk. Except due to acqua alta (110cm), we had to turn around a couple of times to keep our feet dry. Although we own rubber boots, they are not comfortable for walking so we didn't wear them today. We stopped in at Chiesa di San Pantalon to see it again. We got to talking with the elderly caretaker and thanked us and gifted us a postcard of a 14th century painting. I put a €1 coin to light up the ceiling.

Note: Both Pasticceria Tonolo and Pasticceria Bar Targa finally opened today.

On our first visit to Venice in 1990, the first church we visited was Chiesa di San Geremia because it was near our lodgings. So in one of my walks a week ago, I stopped in to see it again. There was a special exhibit - dioramas of the life of Jesus.

Yesterday, was cloudy but quite mild. So, I took a round trip walk from the Rialto to Sant'Elena.

Love the leafless trees.
