Places you've stayed for a week or more

All for 2 weeks + :

Venice.
La Foce, Tuscany.
Rome.
Rome.
Rome.
Rome.
Rome. See a pattern here?

Someday:

Naples.
Ravenna.
London, but I lived there once, so it might not count.

Yrs, Robert

Here goes . . .

Amsterdam,
Athens,
Berlin,
Bologna,
Montespertoli,
Montisi,
Naples,
Pienza,
Rome,
Torino.

I am slowly spreading my travel experiences beyond Italy. The problem is we like it there so much . . . it feels like home. However, there is a whole big and fascinating world out there to explore!!!!

I'm attempting this list chronologically:

Geneva
Nicosia, Cyprus
NYC
Vence, France
Florence (so many times I've lost count, including living there for 10 mos)
Hills outside Bergamo
Venice
Cairo
Rome
Ghent, Belgium
Paris

Others too, but not amounting to a week-long stay in one place!

We started going to Europe in 1990 for four weeks in Italy, now we are here in Venice for three months. We have always been slow travelers even before we knew the term. This list is done from memory since we are still here in Venice. We have stayed in many more places for less than a week. We travel simply now and just come to Venice for three months yearly. However, I have a yearning to visit Paris, London, Switzerland and a few others places in addition to Venice - hopefully in 2015.

Here's our partial list -

Paris (around a year over the years)
Venice (over a year and half over the years)
Florence (one month in 2000, and then another month in 2003)
Rome
Siena
Assisi
Gravedona on Lake Como
Bruges (about two months in several visits)
London
Fussen, Germany
Vienna
Salzburg
Budapest
Prague
Sarlat, France (a month in 2006)
St. Remy, France (three weeks in 2006)
Colmar, France
Brienz, Switzerland (five weeks in 2007)
Epesses on Lake Geneva
Pontrisina, Switzerland
Appenzel, Switzerland

My photo is of my granddarling standing at the base of the Eiffel Tower, her must-do for her last day in Paris with me. We needed a photo for her dad of her in front of the tower. I took several, none worked, So, finally I had to lie down on the lawn and take this! Anything for a grand child...♥

This thread got me to thinking about the places I still have on my list, so I will have to get busy and out of my current "rut" of Italy, Italy, Italy. Nonetheless, here is my list of slow travel Europe so far. (I have a list for Asia, but will save that)…

We've come close to a week in:

The list of places I want to stay is too long, but next on the list is:
Piedmont
Veneto

Interesting lists! I wonder how many members have unknowingly crossed paths? It's fun to try to remember. My list is a bit of a cheat though because a lot of the places we stayed for over a week were for work.
