Well lets give this picture a shot. Anybody been across this bridge?

It's been many years - our first trip to Europe together in '89 -- but it's Ronda, I believe.

Ding Ding Ding!
You are correct Ann.

What is next?

Pauline - Definitely a place I would recommend travelers to put on their itinerary is Spain is their destination.

I think Northern Italy?
I would say Piemonte, but not enough grape vines....
Not a clue on the city.

That is so funny! I was going to post a picture of Serralunga d'Alba instead of the bridge at Rhonda.

So can I will have to try to narrow it down say it looks like it is in the wine appellation of Asti?

Confusing as the mountains look much closer than I suspect they are. It doesn't look a big place and appears to be naturally placed on the hilltop, but the main building is really quite large. Nope it doesn't look familiar (though I have a horrible feeling it will be somewhere I should be able to guess)

I think I am going to be very embarrassed... I say that because think I stayed there for a week and did not recognize it until going through some of my old pics.

Is it Alba?

So now I am embarrassed because I guessed Alba.
We were staying up on the hill looking down at Alba, so I figured I was looking at it from the wrong angle.

"[T]he mountains look much closer than I suspect they are. It doesn't look a big place and appears to be naturally placed on the hilltop..."

All exactly right, Ian.

I believe that this is Magliano Alfieri. We drove by there last September on our way to a small pear cider producer near Guarene.

Joe I think you nailed it, but Ann has to confirm. We drove by it also and even through it, but I have been scratching my head on this one! Good one Ann!

No, I don't think so. We never went further north than Barbaresco on this trip last April.

Wow, I just google'd Magliano Alfieri and the picture sure looks like it.
But it is probably 20 minutes North of Barbaresco

You're right --- it HAS to be it. I'll check my notes for that day, and meanwhile, over to you, Joe.
