I caught up on your posts. Such fabulous photos! I love the one of the gondolas on the grand canal. And that woman in high heels with the two dogs under the laundry. And those black leather men's shoes with the tree branches. Your new glasses look great!

Staying longer in one place is such a different experience, or so it seems. We frequently stay two weeks in a place, but we really should do a longer stay sometime like you are doing.

Went to the Fortuny Museum today and took pictures of the Venetian rooftops from the museum's top floor.

Another beautiful day. We walked and crossed over the temporary pontoon bridge for the Festa della Madonna della Salute.

We visited the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute.

We lit a special candle for a dear friend who is battling cancer.

We stopped in the Abbazia di San Gregorio and viewed the Biennale exhibit of Glass & Bones

In our walk today, we stopped in Teatro Italia that is now a Despar supermarket.

Our walk yesterday started by walking over the Rialto bridge to Strada Nuova. From the Teatro Italia we walked to the church of Santa Maria di Nazareth, the church just before the Santa Lucia train station. It is a beautiful church.

As seen by the Rialto fish market this morning....

......yes, it's a gondola made out of recycled material. We wondered if it is water-worthy. When I mentioned it to a friend and showed her the picture, she said that she saw it on water earlier today.

Today is the Festa della Madonna della Salute (Feast of our Lady of Health), where many Venetians go to light candles and pray for good health at the Salute church. For the children, there are treats to be had.

After our walk from the Rialto to Sant'Elena, we decided to take the vaporetto back to Rialto Mercato to buy some vegetables and fruit.
