Venezia 2017

The best part of the Biennale for us is being able to visit some of the palazzi that are are usually not open to the public.

On Friday, we visited the Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti

Sharon, at the Palazzo Tiepolo Passi?
Thank you for correcting my post. It got moved to the bottom of the pics, and made no sense. Now, I have a blank post sitting there.

Yes, we have stayed at the Palazzo Tiepolo Passi many times. Love the location.

Still here in Venice.

This is the new Ponte Raspi which connects Ruga Rialto to Calle Botteri. The old bridge was converted into a ramp style bridge with a 16% incline to make it accessible. The handrails need to be repositioned to be useful. At the moment, crossing this bridge could be treacherous especially on a cold wet day.

Also discovered that there is an authorized Apple dealer on Ruga Giuffa called CourdiMela. I needed a new charger for my MacBook Air. Buying one here in Venice was $20 more than buying one at home ($105/€89 vs $85).

The shop which is just a bridge away from Santa Maria Formosa is small but the staff was very helpful. It is open Monday through Friday.

We visited Basilica San Marco for the first time on this trip on Thursday while the lights were on. It always amazing to see how beautiful this church is. We paid the €2 to go behind the altar and see Pala D'Oro.

No photos are allowed so I am posting some from our visit in 2015.

Yesterday was another beautiful day here in Venice. There was a foot Santa race from the Rialto to the Giardini as well as a water race. We went to the Fandaco dei Tedeschi hoping to be allowed to the terrace but it wasn't to be since we had no reservations. So, we went down a floor and looked out the windows in the women's shoe department.

We could also see the snow-capped mountains.
